What we need to keep our Skin Cells healthy

As I have already covered Collagen and Elastin in my previous blogs, let's cover Hyaluronic Acid Serum.

Hyaluronic acid, Collagen and Elastin occur naturally in the body, they are essential to maintaining the structure of the skin's layers. Collagen is an important moisturizer with help of Elastin, gives skin its firmness, whereas hyaluronic acid provides and traps moisture to nourish and hydrate skin.

Like a sponge one hyaluronic acid molecule can bind and attach up to 1000 time its own weight in water.
It helps keeps skin hydrated and improves firmness. As skin ages, hyaluronic acid gradually disappears from the epidermis, but remains in the dermis. As the molecules shrink with age, the quantity and quality in the dermis changes.

This skin dries out, becomes more fragile, and the first wrinkles begin to appear. Gradually, the tissues become more slack and the face start to sag.  These imbalances are aggravated by menopause and oxidative stress due to sun exposure, smoking, alcohol etc.

  • Increases the skin's ability to retain moisture.
  • Accelerates the scarring process
  • Improves skin's texture and elasticity
  • Adds plumpness by reducing the signs of aging
  • Tightens skin, and boosts vitality and radiance
  • Restores skin's hydration level, making it smoother and more supple.
  • Helps protect agains UV rays through its antioxidant action.

Evening SKIN CARE Routine

Clayton Shagal Elastin Plus

Elastin is naturally produced with the human body. In the skin, it is mostly found in the dermal layer (bottom layer).
Although it's not as plentiful as collagen within the skin, it still plays a important part. It provides the skin flexibility to stretch and recoil,

With the aging process and overexposure to UV light elastin production slows down and is inefficiently repaired, The results? Loss of firmness and elasticity.

Clayton Shagal offers Elastin Gel 5% for young skin, sensitive or acne skin;
Elastin Gel Plus 10% is for mature and dehydrated skin;
Elastin Serum 40% is used as a booster or for intensive treatment.

  • Normalizes oily skin and tightens appearance of pores;
  • Revitalizes and rebalances the production of collagen
  • Excellent for calming and reducing redness,
  • Improves skin conditions of rosacea, couperose and broken capillaries.
  • Ideal for sensitive skin, young skin and or acne cases.

Skin Care routine, Step 2 and 3

Clayton Shagal Collagen Plus.

In 1982 Clayton Shagal research team uncovered an unique extraction method to provide the skin with macromolecular proteins of collagen.  The single collagen product that stared it all was the purest form of collagen ever extracted commercially which required no injection to penetrate the deep layers of the skin.  to this day, it remains unsurpassed in purity and uniqueness.

Healthy skin produces collagen fibrils, which increases moisture to improve skin hydration. Unhealthy collagen will loose density resilience, the skin will lack hydration, clarity and tone fine lines and wrinkles will become more apparent.

From age 25 years onward,  collagen levels deteriorate rapidly

Collagen Gel includes 5 % collagen proteins best for those starting off with a collagen 25 years and up.

Collagen Gel Plus includes 10% (double) collagen proteins best for those upgrading from the Gel and those requiring additional protection agains fine lines and wrinkles.

Collagen Serum includes 40% collagen proteins, best for severe collagen loss, due to injury (Acne) lack of hydration (Rosacea) and accelerates skin recovery post-treatments.

Collagen make up 25-30% of the total body proteins.
70% of the skin is made up of Collagen.
Over 4000 years ago, Egyptians used collagen as an adhesive binder.
The word "collagen" is derived from the Greek "koala" and "genesis" meaning glue-producing.
Collagen is commonly used to improve wound healing - burns
Collagen give the skin its foundational strength and structure.

The stimulation of fibroblast cells increases the production of collagen.
These stimulous  can be found in nutrition, vitamins and supplements.

I always suggest BioSil Biosil website to my clients which stimulates to produce collagen.

Cameo also sells Advance Nutrition Programme's  Vitamin A+ which is the unlimited skin nutrient, yet over 40% of Canadians are Vitamin A deficit.

Vitamin A+ is a powerhouse of anti-aging supplement the builds healthy skin cells, activates cell turnover and STIMULATES COLLAGEN and ELASTIN, protect against environmental stressors and builds skin immunity and reduces pigmentation.

We put our skin through a lot on a daily basis, whether its with 10 hours make-up wear, sweat and oil build-up, or just too much exposure to environmental aggressors, the skin becomes prone to impurities that can accumulate over time and result in further damage.

Cleansing is a fundamental task that sometime gets neglected with rushing to get the day stated or succumbing to exhaustion at the end of the day.
Proper skin cleansing is a crucial part of taking her of your skin and freeing it from daily pollutants

Soap and water just don't cut it!  Washing your face with soap can be too drying for the skin and the PH balance is compromised.
Soap can pull the moisture out of the skin and facilitates dead, dry skin cell buildup.

Alcohol based facial wipes can do more harm then good they contain ingredients designed to dissolve make-up and other residue this with physical rubbing can severely aggravate the skin and again compromises the PH balance of your skin.

2 - 1 fatial cleansers are one of the most efficient ways to simplify your skin care routine.  They save you time and money.  All of Clayton Shagal cleansers have a pH- neutral level that don't require the use of a facial toner.  Additionally, either one may be used as both make-up remover and cleanser.
